Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Sarva ("we", "our", the "Service") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Sarva you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. Your phone number, country code, profile name, avatar, and other profile details you provide when creating an account.
- Messages and content. Messages, media, files, and voice notes you send through the Service are stored so they can be delivered and synced across your devices.
- Contacts. If you grant permission, we process your device contacts to show which of your contacts already use Sarva and to let you invite others. Contacts are uploaded to our servers for matching and synchronization across your devices.
- Usage data. Technical information such as device type, app version, and diagnostic logs used to operate and improve the Service.
2. How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service (message delivery, sync, notifications).
- Match your contacts with existing Sarva users.
- Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
- Debug, improve, and develop new features.
3. Miniapps and permissions
Miniapps are third-party applications that run inside Sarva. Each miniapp declares the permissions it needs (for example camera, storage, or contacts), and we ask for your consent before granting access. Miniapps run in a sandbox with isolated storage and can only use the capabilities you approve. You can revoke a miniapp's access by uninstalling it. Miniapp developers are responsible for their own handling of any data you share with their app.
4. How we share information
- With other users. Your profile (name, avatar, phone) is visible to people you chat with and to contacts who have your number.
- Service providers. We use infrastructure providers (e.g., cloud hosting, object storage) to run the Service. They process data on our behalf.
- Legal. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on our servers and cached locally on your devices to provide offline-first functionality. We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete messages and your account; residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period.
7. Your choices
- Contacts permission. You can deny or revoke contact access in your device settings; Sarva continues to work without it.
- Miniapp permissions. Consent is requested per miniapp and can be refused.
- Account deletion. Contact us to delete your account and associated data.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
